Wanna Start Something Cool?

Ok so you are fully bought into the community and how helpful of a place this is. You wanna give back and share start an initiative but are not sure what to do. Follow these steps and before you know it you’ll be rocking in no time!

<aside> 💡 We allow anyone to create new initiatives, however, if you work at an ML tooling company we ask that you do this as a member of the community, not as a member of your company.

1. Make sure there is not already a similar initiative that is happening
   1. if there is something similar maybe its best to join the initiative rather than starting a new one.
2. Write a quick one pager doc including
   1. What the initiative is
   2. What the goal of the initiative is
   3. Who is the initiative for?
      1. Data eng, data scientist, MLE, etc
      2. Sr, Jr, or in between
   4. Why do you think we need this initiative?
   5. Timeline
      1. how long do you estimate before the initiative is going?
      2. is this a one-time thing or recurring?
   6. What resources will you need from the community?
      1. marketing? time? money?
   7. How much time will you need to dedicate to this?
      1. will you need others to also dedicate time?
         1. if so then who and how much?
   8. anything else you think is relevant
3. Send this doc to the relevant lead -
   1. When reaching out please:
      1. add a short pitch to explain the proposed initiative
